London Spring 2010: The Essential Danielle Scutt
London can whip through new straight off the streets ideas quicker than the racks being cleared the minute Balmain hits 80% off. Danielle Scutt has been a pretty good barometer these last couple of years of all sorts of directional conceits—glam rockabilly, neon club kid—and now this, an ode to a twisted take on fairy tale dressing, with this lean dress whose print references Alice in Wonderland’s Queen of Hearts, story book sketches, and—note the trend—decorative squiggles redolent of the fantastic Zandra Rhodes.
